Profile of SSTN
SSTN - Sommella Studio Tecnico Navale - was established in 1978 by eng. Alessandro Sommella with the aim to provide independent surveying services to the maritime transport industry as well as technical advice in the fields of marine insurance, engineering, forensic litigations and arbitrations.
During the last 30 years, several investigations were conducted concerning casualties in Italy and abroad, performing litigation related work for Defendant attorneys, Plaintiff attorneys, Owners, P&I Clubs, Main Contractors, Insurance Companies, Adjusters and Forwarding Companies and testifying in trial and by deposition combined in Italy, England and USA.
In the early 80's, after a half century long career as master of commercial ships, capt. Antonio Sommella transferred to SSTN the huge experience acquired at sea.
Cooperating with professionals and specialists, SSTN availed itself of their experience, dealing with and solving many cases in "marine" and "non-marine" fields.
Since 2006, with the contribution of eng. Federico Sommella, SSTN widened the range of activity, carrying out also base design, management and supervision, in synergy with associated partners and sized engineering companies.
